Forrest E. Weaver age 96, of Cridersville Passed away peacefully at 3:11 a.m., Tuesday Dec. 6, 2016 at Otterbein-Cridersville. He was born Aug. 29, 1920 in Lima, Ohio to the late George and Laura Bingham Weaver. He married LaDonna Marie Baber April 29, 1942 and she preceded him in death Nov. 6, 2012.
Forrest had been a manufacturing engineer at Westinghouse and had served in the U. S. Army during WW II in the European Theater and had received a purple heart. He belonged to Westside United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling the area eating at local restaurants with his friend, Ginny Rohrbacher.
Survivors include a daughter Darla (Thaddeus Ragsdale) Davis of Rifle, CO, a daughter-in-law Pam Weaver of Wapak, 4 grandchildren: Dawn (Bobby) Lane, Tara (Kurt) Cooper, Charity (Joe) Tuller and Craig (Heather) Weaver,II, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons and 2 sisters: Ruth Honert and Marian Weaver both of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a son Craig O. Weaver, a grandson Kurt Alan Flanigan, 2 brothers: Emmett and George Arthur Weaver, and a sister Doris Weaver.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
The funeral will be 11:00 a.m., Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Cronk officiating. Burial will follow in Shawnee Cemetery.
