Frances C, Park

Frances Cordelia Carnes Park died September 15, 2016 at home in Otterbein Retirement Community in Cridersville, OH. She was born in Lima, OH on June 26, 1920, to Alfred and Freda Dengler Carnes, who preceded her in death, along with her six sisters and and five brothers.

On November 20, 1941 she married Joseph Park, who preceded her in death on May 17, 2014. She is survived by daughter Julia McDonough of Fort Collins, CO, as well as several generations of nieces and nephews.

Her lifelong love of learning led her to enroll at Ohio State University later in life, where creative writing and history were among her favorite subjects. She spent many hours researching and traveling in search of family history and volunteered tirelessly in several capacities for the Allen County Historical Society. Frances was happiest when gardening, cooking, listening to good music and spending time with friends and family, both two-legged and four-legged.

At her request, no services or visitations were held. Cremated remains will be interred with those of her family in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Allen County Historical Society.
