Obituary

Frank David Yost, age 81 of Wapakoneta, passed at 5:35 a.m., Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at St. Rita’s Mercy Health. He was born April 18, 1940 in Bloomsburg, Columbia County, PA to the late Frank Betterly and Lois Bertella (Hess) Yost.

In 1951, his mother brought him to Ohio where he grew up and attended Blume Junior High School. He left school to work and enlisted into the U.S. Army.
He went to work for Ametek in Wapakoneta where he retired after 41 years as a lab technician. He had formerly attended St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Wapakoneta and was a member of the Eagles Lodge #691 of Wapakoneta. He was an avid NASCAR fan, would root on the Wapakoneta Redskins and enjoyed going to the games. His greatest joy was his family. He would attend the grandchildren’s sporting events, and it didn’t matter what sport they were participating in, he was there.

He is survived by 2 daughters – Dr. Sherry Ann (Franklin) Robinette of Springfield; Wendy Lyn (Scott) Williams of Lima; 5 grandchildren – Tyler, Devin, Logan, Paige, and Chloe; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers – Donald W. Yost and Doyle R. Yost; 2 sisters – Elizabeth Chesbrough and Laura Gierhart.

Funeral services will begin 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.

The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Love you Uncle Dave thanks for sticking up for me when I was a kid! Glad Mom got to spend the last years of her life playing dominos, eating potluck meals, and playing cards with you and having those years to enjoy one another with Aunt Laura, Jerri and Terri. We know how much your grandchildren and daughters meant to you as you were so proud of them all! May we all be resurrected at the last trump and be caught up in the air to meet the lord and forever be with Him. Rest in peace until that day. Love your niece Arlene
