Frank E. Fisher, age 95, of Cridersville died 10:48 p.m., Sunday July 24, 2011 at Lima Memorial Health Systems. He was born July 12, 1916 in Elizabeth, NJ to Frank Eugene and Florence A. Shipman Fisher, Sr. He married Adele Johnston April 25, 1942 and she preceded him in death Oct. 6, 2002.
Frank was a pillar of the Shawnee Community since 1959. He loved the people he met and they in turn loved and respected him. He was a member of the Shawnee Community United Methodist Church and was the first resident of Otterbein-Cridersville. He had over 7000 hours as a volunteer at Lima Memorial and headed up the Life Line program and was active with Meals on Wheels. He graduated from the University of Illinois in Electrical Engineering. He served on the Shawnee School Board and had been active on the committee to build Apollo J. V. S.
Survivors include a son Steven Lawrence (Vicki) Fisher of Guilford, CT, 2 daughters: Katharine Ann (William) Glanton of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Patricia Ann (Richard) Bruns of Houston, TX, a son-in-law Donald (Mary) Boger of Glendale, CA, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, a sister: Betty (Leroy) Armstrong of El Cajon, CA and a sister-in-law Chris Fisher of Quincy, IL
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Barbara Ann Boger, a brother: George A. Fisher and a sister Francis Sloane.
The family will receive friends 10 to noon Sat. July 30 at Shawnee Community United Methodist Church and the memorial will follow at Noon with Rev. Charlotte Hefner officiating. A reception will be at Otterbein-Cridersville following the service at 1:30 p.m. Burial of cremated remains will be in Shawnee Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to Shawnee Community United MethodistChurch.
