Frank K. Johnson, age 88, of Lima died 2:10 p.m., Wed. Oct. 20 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born May 13, 1922 in Lima to Frank Henry and Mary Ethel Billingsley Johnson. He married Vivian Hope McCaslin Oct. 29, 1950 and she preceded him in death March 4, 2009.
Survivors include a son Howard C. (Bev) Snider of Lima, 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, a step daughter-in-law Linda Snider of Westfield, MA, a brother James R. Johnson of Detroit and a sister Nora Gertrude Lawitzke also of Detroit.
He was preceded in death by 1 son – Larry K. Snider; 1 brother Edsel, 2 sisters Willene and Jeanette and 2 grandsons.
Mr. Johnson had been a millwright and iron worker at Clark and the Lima Tank Depot. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1275, American Legion Post 96, Orioles Nest 173 and Masonic Lodge 513, Lafayette.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday Oct. 24 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home Cridersville and the memorial service will begin at 8:00 p.m. with Chaplain Herb Wilker officiating.
Cremated Remains will be entombed at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, Lima at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Rita’s Hospice.
