Frank W. Heffner, age 89 of Lima, died at 6:45 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016 at
Shawnee Manor. He was born November 21, 1926 in Lima, Ohio; to the late Edgar
and Sophia Leydorf Heffner. On June 24, 1950 he married Gladys “Joan” Wighaman, who survives.
Mr. Heffner retired from BLH/Clark Equipment Company then went to work with the
Shawnee School system. He was a U. S. Navy WW II and Korean veteran.
Frank could make or fix anything….. From building family homes to creating toys from a simple sketch for his grandchildren, each task completed to perfection. He loved working in the garden with Joan in the mornings and a pontoon ride whenever at the lake. He will always be known for being devoted to his family and friends.
Survivors include 4 daughters – Karen Stitzel of Lima; Janet (David) Kinzer of
Lima; Patricia (Douglas) Cook of Lima; Deborah (Michael)Huddleston of Lima; 8
grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters – Helen Long and Mary Margaret Heffner.
A celebration of life for Frank will be 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2016
at Perry Township Meeting Hall, 2408 East Breese Road, Lima, Ohio 45806.
