French Smith
LIMA – French Smith (99) was called into the presence of the Lord
Sunday, September 6, 2020 at his residence. He was born April 30,
1921 in Clay Hole, Kentucky to the late Felix Smith and Polly
(Collinsworth) Smith. He was married to Janet F. Smith who preceded
him in death on February 19, 2014. The world lost a great man. To us
he was known as Dad, Daddy, Grandpa and Papaw. He retired from
Harris Lumber Co. and was a WWII Military Police Officer. He was old
fashioned and in his ways. He loved music, especially bluegrass and
classic country. He had three sisters: Arlene, Fannie and Marie, and
four brothers: Edward, Samuel, Isaac, and Nicky. French left behind

loved to garden; he loved his family and he was very proud of his country. He had an amazing team of
nurses and doctors who thought very highly of him and as a family, we would like to thank everyone
who had a part in taking care of him. French loved to go fishing, camping, and wrestling.
Memorial contributions may be given to Bayliff & Son Funeral Home to help with his services.
