Garry Cummins, age 67 of Harrod, died 12:24 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2013 in a truck accident. He was born October 25, 1945 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to the late Carl David and Ida Ruth Davis Cummins. On October 11, 1985 he married Kathryn Kay Harshbarger, who survives.
Mr. Cummins was a mechanic and truck driver and a member of the Heidelberg Reformed Church. He was a member of the N.R.A. and the Allen County Gun Club. His hobbies included playing cards trap shooting, camping, automotive work, and was an avid story teller.
Additional survivors include 9 children – Wendy (Stanley) Langham of Wellington; Darrell (Cindy) Cummins of Harrod; Shawn (Bonnie) Cummins of Wapakoneta; Ron Cummins of Wapakoneta; Brian (Jenn) Cummins of Lima; Rob (Jenise) Merricle of Cridersville; Scott (Ashley) Merricle of Cridersville; Lee (Lisa) Hale of Spokane, Washington; and Scott Hale; 20 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; twin brother – Larry (Ruth) Cummins; 5 sisters – Rose (Joe) Parker, Phyllis Hickes, Judy (Jack) Berning, Linda (Michael) Armitage, and Sandy Killian; in laws – Pam (Bob) Kirby and Jerry (Norma) Harshbarger.
He was preceded in death by a son – Carl Jay Cummins and a sister-in-law – Sherry West.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Bob Pepple will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
