Garry W. Holtzapple

Garry W. Holtzapple, age 80 of Buckland, passed at 8:30 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2021, at St. Rita’s Mercy Health. He was born November 6, 1941, in Buckland, Ohio to the late Franklin Phillip and Gladys Yvonne (Zerkel) Holtzapple. He married MaDonna Jean Keysor and after her passing in 1995, he married Joyce Widok Miller, who passed March 2020.

Garry retired after 29 years as a molder with Teledyne Ohio Steel. He was a craftsman and worked as a carpenter in his spare time and after his retirement. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #691 of Wapakoneta and had coached little league. He loved hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and woodworking.

He is survived by 4 sons – Richard Holtzapple of Lima; Joe (Lorri Hines) Holtzapple of Uniopolis; Dan Holtzapple of Wapakoneta; Chad Holtzapple of Bellefontaine; 1 stepson – Mark Miller of Waynesfield; a stepdaughter – Beth Miller of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law – June Holtzapple of Wapakoneta; Pat Holtzapple of West Milton; and his best little Beagle buddy – Sadie.

He was preceded in death by an infant son – Todd Holtzapple; 2 brothers – Allie Holtzapple and Paul Holtzapple.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 – 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.

Funeral services will begin 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will follow in Buckland Cemetery.
