Gary E. Hensley, Sr. age 79, of Lima passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 at The Springs of Lima.  He was born Sept, 24, 1943 in Huntington, WV to the late John Benjamin and Vesta Irene (Kirk) Hensley.  He married Leona Darlene Reis March 9, 1974 and she preceded him in death Oct. 8, 2015.

Gary had been a self-employed roofer for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and motorcycles and riding motorcycles when he could.  He loved to spend time with his grandkids.

Survivors include son:  John (Brittany) Hensley of Lima, daughters:  Tressa (John) Schlesselman of Lima and Rhonda (Bill) Riddle of Chillicothe, a daughter-in-law Missy Hensley of Waynesfield, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren brothers:  Michael Hensley of Lima, Billy Hensley of SC and 4 sisters:  Norma Brunty of Lima, Sandra Carter and Kay Adams both of Huntington, WV and Roberta Wodinowich of MO and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son Gary Hensley, Jr.; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 27 from 3 to 4 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.  The memorial service will follow at 4 with Pastor Peter Dove officiating.
