Ermigean ‘Gene’ Music, age 76, of Wapakoneta died 8:01 p.m., Wed. June 22 at Lima Memorial Health Systems. He was born April 11, 1935 in Bonaza, Kentucky to Ermine D. and Cora Mae Coffee Music, both parents are deceased. He married Evelyn Jane Cook June 9, 1963 and she preceded him in death Nov. 18, 2009.
Mr. Music had retired from Superior Coach where he had been a welder. He formerly worked for Marion Power Shovel, Peabody Gallion and Clark Equipment. He enjoyed working in his shop and fixing cars.
Survivors include 3 children: Jacqueline (John) Harless of Waynesfield, Kimberly Mason of Lima and Kevin (fiancée Laura LaMarr) of Wapak, 3 grandchildren: Ashley, Megan and Haley Mason; 3 great grandchildren: Kameron Neal Willis, Brooklyn Renee Mason and Avion Mason; mother-in-law Dorothy Cook of Lima; 4 brothers: William (Betty) Music of Lima, Darrell (Diane) Music of Spencerville, Ted (Vicki) Music of Lima, Hank Music of Arkansas; 6 sisters: Nellie Music, Bonnie (Ken) Miller, Brenda Schoonover, Dora (Dan) White all of Lima, Mary (Don) McBride of Indiana and Doris (Larry) Culp of DeGraff, a brother-in-law Don Nedderman, St. Marys.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Gordon Music and Doug (Sharon) Music, 3 sisters: Phyllis (Bob) Striff, Ruth (Don) Baker and Josephine Nedderman, a brother-in-law Darwin Schoonover and a sister-in-law Sharon Rose Music.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday June 26 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Striff officiating, burial will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Assoc.
