George “Nick” Thedieck, Jr age 77, of Lima died 7:34 p.m., Tuesday April 21, 2015 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born Dec. 25, 1937 in Lima to the late George and Lucille C. (Sheehan) Thedieck, Sr. He married Donna S. Mason Oct. 14, 1960 and she survives in Lima.
Nick had been a machinist for Ford Motor Company before establishing Thedieck Construction. He graduated from Shawnee High school in 1955 and served in the U. S. Army from 1961-1963. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and attended Shawnee Alliance Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family (which included his animals) and looked forward to his daily ritual of a late breakfast at Ike’s. Nick was known for his larger than life laugh, his wit and his love of friends and family. His deep baritone voice and endless one-liners will be deeply missed.
Additional survivors include a son: Trevor Thedieck of Dallas, TX, 2 daughters: Nicole (Eric) Sayers of Tampa, FL and Tia (Josh) Sherrick of Lima, 5 grandchildren: Logan Sayers, Cameron Sayers, Owen Sherrick, Mason Sherrick and Cash Sherrick and a brother Thomas (Sharon) Thedieck of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a brother James Thedieck.
The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m., Saturday at Shawnee Alliance Church and the memorial will follow at 3 p.m. with Dr. Daniel Messner officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Angels for Animals.
