Harry C. Ewing, Jr., age 67 of Harrod, died at 10:20 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011, in Lima Memorial Health System. He was born February 2, 1944 in Lima, Ohio. He is the son of Harry Clayton and Vivian Snow Ewing, Sr. His father preceded in death and his mother survives in Westminster. He married Karen Marshall Sept. 6, 1961 and she survives in Harrod.
Mr. Ewing was a plumber and pipefitter with the Plumber and Pipefitter Union Local #776 of Lima. He attended Westminster United Methodist Church. He had received his master plumbers’ license at the age of 18, was a member of the Eagles Lodge #370 of Lima, and enjoyed working in his vineyard and making wine.
Survivors include 4 sons – Harry C. Ewing, III of Lima; Jeffery (Fayna) Ewing of Lima; Mark (Geri) Ewing of Lima and Todd Ewing of Elida; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 brothers – Tony (Luana) Ewing of Harrod; Steve (Amy) Ewing of Westminster; a sister – Kathy (Jerry) Weeks, Sr. of New Hampshire, Ohio; and a brother-in-law – Bill Marshall of Lima.
Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2011 in Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Pastor Dave Burkhart will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Westminster United Methodist Church building fund or the Lima Samaritan House.
