Harvey L. Hefner age 90, of Cridersville died 12:20 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born Oct. 16, 1924 in Perry Twp., Allen County to the late Arthur and Elizabeth Mowery Hefner. He married Flogean O. ‘Jean’ Sellers June 1, 1947 and she survives in Cridersville.
Harvey had been the owner operator of Hefner Service Center in Lima and was a life member of V. F. W. Post 1275. He had served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He loved gardening, auctions, antiquing, shuffleboard, fishing and hunting.
Additional survivors include 3 children: Kay (Butch) Feister of Wapak, Sandi Hefner of Grove City and Rick (Cindy) Hefner of Wapak, 4 grandchildren: Mike Feister, Kimi Kellett, Jason (Jennie) Hefner and Katrina (Levi) Cecil, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and a brother Earl (Mary) Hefner of Lima.
The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m., Friday Feb. 13 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
The funeral will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Martindell officiating and burial will follow in St. Matthew Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Cridersville Rescue Squad.
