I worked for Spyker Builders in the late 60’s, & remained friends with Helen Jean, along with Lawrence, Joel & Eulice. & Steve. Helen Jean was always so very kind to me, and such a sweet person. She would spend time with me to just talk. I loved to browse the store, & she would show me the new Hallmark things that came in. I learned a lot from her, as well as the rest of the family. I was blessed & very lucky to have had Helen Jean, and the entire Spyker Family in my life. Thank you Helen Jean, & God bless. Rae

I first met Helen Jean as a young boy, when my mom worked at the Elmview Hallmark store. That was in the early-to-mid 70s, and my sone and daughter got to know her as well. We'd stop by her house every time we came into town, and had a nice visit with her this past Labor Day. She gave my son a tomahawk when he was about 12, and my daughter a dream catcher, and she'd share stories with them for hours on end. Helen Jean was a special soul and had a zest for learning and sharing that was just as present this past Labor Day as what I remember 50+ years ago. She had such an impact on so many people, and on the entire Ft. Shawnee area for three-quarters of a century. I feel so blessed to have known her all these years. God bless you, Helen Jean. Rest in peace. Rob Proctor & Family
