Helen Maxine Lawrence, age 84 of Cridersville, died at 10:09 p.m., Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Lima Memorial Health Care System. She was born June 11, 1928 in Lima, Ohio to the late Ivan Baumgartner and Lydia Nungester Baumgartner Hanifin. On October 1, 1947 she married Carl Eugene Lawrence, who survives.

Mrs. Lawrence worked at Nesbit Candy Store, EXCELLO Corporation, and Bayliff & Son Funeral Home. She was a long time church choir member at Cridersville United Methodist Church, 36 years as a Western Style square dancer with the Cridersville Squaranaders and the Silver Spurs clubs.

She is also survived by three children – David (Kerry) Lawrence of Las Vegas, Nevada; Diane (Robert) Stombaugh of Wapakoneta; and Steven (Sandra) Lawrence of Wapakoneta; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister – Mildred Roberts and a half-brother Paul Baumgartner.

Funeral services will begin 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Charles Martindell will officiate. Burial will follow in Ft. Amanda Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cridersville United Methodist Church.
