Helmut J. Schreima, age 56, of Wapakoneta and formerly of Sidney and Rockford died 4:53 a. m. Sunday Dec. 30, 2012 at St. Rita’s Medical Center Emergency Room. He was born Aug. 30, 1956 in Hillsboro, Oregon to Helmut George and Rose Marie Hoffman Schreima. His mother survives in Corvallis, Oregon.
Mr. Schreima had been a truck driver with Seaway Fuels. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Rockford American Legion Post and the Eagles Lodge also of Rockford.
Additional survivors include a son Danil (Annie) Schreima of St. Mary’s, 4 daughters: Andria (Anthony) Dowell of Rockford, Rhiann (Daniel) Griffith of Van Wert, Kirsten Schreima and Mariel Schreima both of Rockford, a close friend Debbie Baker of Sidney, a brother: David Schreima of Long Beach, CA, a sister Rose (Bob) Courtney of Corvallis, Oregon, and 5 grandchildren: Alex, Katie, Rylee, Alyxis and Lilly.
A memorial service will begin noon Saturday Jan. 5, 2013 at Rockford United Methodist Church with Rev. Chip Steffy officiating. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to services at the church.
Burial of cremated remains will be in Crystal Lakes Cemetery, Corvallis, Oregon at a latter date.
