Howard C. Snider age 81 of Lima, passed away January 18, 2022 at St. Rita’s Mercy Health. He was born December 13, 1940 in Kirkland, Ohio to Gerald and Vivian (McCaslin) Snider. On August 2, 1996 he married Bev Seffernick and she survives.
Howard graduated from Lima Senior High School. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy from 1959 – 1976. During his Navy career he was a Tin Can Sailor, Shellback, Vietnam Veteran and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He had worked in the maintenance department at St. Rita’s from 1976 until retiring in 2001.
Howard is also survived by a son – Barry (Lisa) of Lima, a daughter – Amanda (Kirk) of Troy, son- Michael of Hendersonville, TN and a daughter – Carrie (Cole) of Lima. He is also survived by a grandson Steven, whom he raised, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great – great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother – Anne and stepfather Kerm Johnson, brother – Larry and children – Ken, Kim, Kyle and an infant son Jeffery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 – and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2022 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Military rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1275.
