Howard L. Mosbacker, Jr. age 81, of Lima died 6:05 a.m., Friday, Feb. 15 at Lima Memorial Health Systems. He was born July 14, 1931 in Cincinnati, OH to Howard Lee and Addie K. Anstead, Sr. He married Royce J. Schofield and she survives in Lima.
Mr. Mosbacker loved to fish and spend time in Florida. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. During his 12 years of service he was a pitcher for the US Army Fast Pitch Softball Team. They won the New Mexico State Championship, 4th Army Tournament and the all Europe Championship in Germany. He had been a farmer.
Survivors include 2 sons: Edward Hammond of Texas, Howard Lee (Tina) Mosbacker, III of Washington Court House, 3 daughters: Debbie (Jeff) Snyder of Lima, Carla (Frank) Zerbe of Elida and Paula (Randy) Frankhouser of Lima, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a brother Ronald Mosbacker of Lynx, OH.
He was preceded in death by a brother David Mosbacker and a sister Doris Dean.
Memorial service will be held Monday Feb. 18 at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James Mason officiating.
