Ida R. Smith went home to be with the Lord on July 23 at 4:10 p.m.. She was born April 3, 1929 to Arthur and Gwendolyn Lesh Smith. She has a brother Jim that survives in Lima and a sister Kathryn Ogle of Kokomo, IN.
Ida is preceded in death by a brother Clifford Smith and 2 sisters: Dorothy Ervin and Barbara Miller.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, great; great great and great great great nieces and nephews and a very special great great great niece Addison Marie Morlock.
Ida worked for Grams Ice Cream Company and during her time there the name changed to Kohlers Buckeye and Freckers Ice Cream. She worked for American Coin Laundry, RMS of Ohio and Wal-Mart Super Center as a greeter. She was an avid fisher, mostly at Grand Lake St. Marys. She enjoyed gardening, bowling and taught bowling at Bowlmore Lanes. She was involved in a club called A.C.C.R.C and she had attended Abundant Life Temple.
Graveside services will begin 3:00 p.m., Friday July 25 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima with Pastor Michael Stuber officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
