Irma Irene Burden, age 85 of Wapakoneta, died at 2:59 p.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the The Gardens of Wapakoneta. She was born June 13, 1931 in Santiere, Indiana to the late Albert Christian and Jenny Lauritsen Nielsen. On August 6, 1949 she married Richard A. ‘Dick’ Burden who died March 23, 2011.
Mrs. Burden was a homemaker and a member of Cridersville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter – Susan D. Burden of Los Angeles, CA; 2 sons – Dennis A. (Karen) Burden of Wapakoneta; David L. (Pam) Burden of Wapakoneta; 5 grandchildren – Scott Burden, Brian Burden, Melissa Layton, Krystal (Richard) Fergus, and Ashley (Matthew) Harruff; 15 great grandchildren; a brother – Henry C. ‘Hank’ Nielsen of Lima; and a sister – Ellen Dick of Cridersville.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers – Dick Nielsen, Danny ‘Pete’ Nielsen; Russell Nielsen, and a sister Joan Nielsen.
Funeral services will begin 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2016 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Casey Irwin will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Cemetery, near Cridersville.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cridersville United Methodist Church or National Breast Cancer Foundation.
