Jack Wombles

Jack Wombles, age 82 of Lima, passed at 7:13 a.m., Sunday, July 2, 2023 at home with his family beside him.  He was born May 30, 1941 in Goose Rock, KY to the late Taulby and Chlora Smith Wombles.  On October 11, 1979 he married Deborah Brown, who survives.

Jack retired as a master electrician, he had worked at WalMart, was a maintenance manager at Sam’s Club and had worked at MidBus.  He was a member of Lima First Church and the Lima Eagles #370.  He loved planting tomatoes and cucumbers in his garden and listening to rock and roll.

He is also survived by 7 children – Jack (Violet Faulkner) Wombles of London, KY; Charlene Davidson of Danville, KY; Danny (June Jane) Wombles of Lima; Cindy (Jason) Hull of LaBelle, FL; George Michael ‘Bo’ Wombles of LaBelle, FL; Marjorie (Jethro Smith) Wombles of Lima; Susan (Paul) Koch of Lima; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in passing by 4 brothers – Eugene Wombles, Carty Wombles, Melvin Wombles, Morris Wombles and 2 sisters – Addie Hubbard and Henrietta Marcum.

Funeral services will begin 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 7, 2023 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Cancer Unit at Lima Memorial Hospital.
