James A. “Big Dog” Deal, age 52 of Wapakoneta, died Tuesday, at his residence. He was born February 17, 1961 to the late Rex Eugene and Marjorie Faye Worrell Deal. On September 14, 2002 he married Melissa Beth Tangeman, who survives.
Mr. Deal had been a chemical operator at the Potash Corporation and enjoyed camping, fishing, the Cleveland Browns and The OSU Buckeyes.
Survivors include 4 children: Amber (Paul II) Holbrook of Lima, Jamie (Krystal Pettes) Deal of Hudson, FL, Carey (Rich Walpole) Coburn of Tampa, FL and Amalie Cummins of Wapakoneta, 6 grandchildren: Makayla Holbrook, Paul Holbrook III, Taylor Holbrook, David Deal, Jordan Estfan and Tyler Estfan, 1 brother: Thomas Deal of Wapakoneta, a brother-in-law Greg Meyer of Myrtle Beach, SC and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a son: David Deal, a brother: Daniel Deal and a sister: Deborah Meyer.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Saturday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Jeanette Tangeman officiating and burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Lupus Foundation.
