James E. ‘Jim’ Marsden age 84, of Cridersville passed away 3:10 a.m., Sunday,
Nov. 18 at Cridersville Health Care with his wife by his side. He was born July 30, 1934 in Beloit, WI to the late Frank and Melvina Musselman Marsden, Sr. He married Marietta R. Schaub July 20, 1968 and she survives in Cridersville.
Additional survivors include 4 brothers: George (Wilma) Marsden of Columbia, Missouri, Jack (Sharon) Marsden of Conway, SC, Michael (Karen) Marsden of Appleton, WI and Don (Cindy) Marsden of Rockford, IL; mother-in-law Ruth Thompson, brother-in-law Dorance (Kathy) Thompson, special nephew Steven Panteleo from Milwaukee, WI and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: step mother Kay Marsden, brother Frank (Suzanne) Marsden, Jr. and a sister Sally (Keith) Townsend.
Jim was a member of Wapak First United Methodist Church where he had been very active.
He traveled with the church for missions and education to Haiti, Russia and Israel. He had been president of the United Methodist Men at the Local, District and Conference levels. He also sang in the chancel choir. He was a member of the Lima Elks Lodge 54 and the Wapak Eagles 691. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon and he had been a lifetime Green Bay Packers fan.
The family will recieve friends 2-4 and 6-8 Friday, Nov. 23 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Westbay officiating. Burial will follow in Spencerville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzhiemers Association or to the American Heart Association.
