James E. ‘Jim’ Schrader, age 64 of Delphos, passed at 10:35 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2020 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born on December 31, 1955 in Lima, Ohio to the late Edward and Wilma Arnold Schrader. On March 8, 1975 he married T. Rene’ Clevenger, who survives in Delphos.
Mr. Schrader retired as a truck driver with Spartan Nash, was a member of the Teamsters Local
#908, and the Elida Immanuel Church. He was a master mechanic and jack of all trades. He enjoyed hunting at his cabin in southern Ohio and fishing in Florida where he ‘wintered’ the last several years with his wife. His biggest joy was his family, doing things with his grandchildren, and riding his ‘Harley’. Jim loved people and helping others. He will be lovingly remembered as being ‘Santa’ for over 20 years, all year long.
Also surviving are his 3 sons- James (Susan) Schrader of Delphos; Chad (Krista) Schrader of Delphos; Andy (Ali) Schrader of Elida; 5 grandchildren – Brittany, Kaden, Kendall, Morgan, and Judd; 4 sisters – Julie Conrad of MI; Sue Metcalf of Delphos; Linda McClure-Hammons of Ottoville; GiGi (Larry) Dodd of OR; and his twin brother – John Schrader of Delphos; and many granddogs.
Due to COVID, a celeberation of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be give to Toys 4 Tots, Elida Immanuel Church, TV 44, the Delphos Kiwanis Hometown Christmas, or the annual F.O.P. Cops and Kids.

Jim left his memories in so many ways with so many people. They will all be held close to the heart. Wishing for strength to guide the family through the hard times. God Bless You, Jim and your family.
Santa "served" our kids and granddaughters. I worked with Jim at Gressel Produce in the 80's. As a mechanic, I saw him do things to keep the fleet running and looking as good as possible. Some of those amazed me at what he could do. I also drove with him at Nash Finch / Sparten Nash, and he served as a caring union steward. I'm sure we rode in some charity rides together as well. He is one of my Delphos friends I came to know over the years that will be forever remembered for several reasons. Missing you already, friend. Ride on... Till we meet again one day. I urge everyone to support his cause, and give what you can for the kids. God's speed Santa! Jeff & Diane McDougle

Deepest sympathy in the passing of Jim. Thoughts and prayers for your family. Dennis and Cynthia (John) Spragg
My grandparents (Jim and carol Miller) would have Jim and his sweet wife Come and play Santa and mrs. clause. This is one of my favorite childhood memories. Growing up he was the only real Santa I knew. If anyone was the real Santa it was him. Then, later when we had our own children I asked him to come and take pictures and talk to the kids and he of course did. To have your children take pictures with the same Santa you had your childhood pictures with really was magical. And out of character he was still the sweetest man. I can remember him and my grandpa sitting up once all the kids went to bed and cracking open a bottle of peppermint schnapps 😂 ...it breaks my heart for his family and for all the kids big and little that knew him as Jim and as Santa. He was a wonderful man and is already missed dearly.
