James A. “Jimmy” Hower, age 65 of Lima, died at 2:55 p.m., Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born March 15, 1952 in Lima, Ohio to the late John J. and Carolyn J. Vaughn Hower and raised by his father and his late step mother – Lillian Jennings Hower.
Jimmy retired from Clark Ford as a Ford master technician. He was a member of the Wapakoneta Eagles #691 and the American Legion Post 395 of Waynesfield. He was an avid fan of NASCAR , the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State, and Elvis. He will be remember for his kindness, helping others, and his mechanical abilities.
He is survived by 2 daughters – Tracie Ann Klausing of Piqua; Jill Marie (Adam) Turner of Waynesfield, 6 grandchildren – Marquis A. Klausing, Olivia R. Turner, Talen K. Turner, Jace D. Lyons, Gracyn Ann Turner, and Dawcyn Marie Turner; 2 sisters – Donna S. Messer of Lima; Alice M. Siegel of Orlando, FL; a half brother – Clyde Hower of St. Marys, and a former wife – Vicky Harmon Fowler of Waynesfield
He was preceded in death by a step mother – Isabelle Stapleton Hower; a sister – Marilyn A. Childs and a half brother – David D. Hower.
Funeral services will begin 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2017 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Don Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
The family is receiving contributions to help with Jimmy’s headstone.
