Obituary

Janice A. Lones, age 80 of Lima, passed Monday, February 7, 2022 at Shawnee Manor. She was born August 3, 1941 in Lima, Ohio to the late Lauren Ortho and Gladys Opal (Cook) Shaw. On November 6, 1965 she married Harmon E. Lones, who passed May 2, 1996.

Janice graduated from Auglaize Local High School, was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary #370 of Lima. She had worked in the office at Rudolph Foods for many years and retired as a clerk from J.C. Penney Company.

Survivors include a brother – Terry (LaDonna) Shaw of Harrod; 2 nieces – Megan Shaw of Roswell, GA and Dr. Miranda Shaw (Robert Olivares) of Park City, Utah.

Funeral services will begin 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Her cousin, Rev. Jim E. Goldsmith of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, Kenton and Rev. Dan Gutman of Zion Lutheran Church, Lima will officiate. Burial will follow in Salem Westminster Cemetery, Allen County.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westminster Volunteer Fire Department or to the donor’s choice.

I will miss my dear friend. We first meet at Rudolph Foods and have been great friends for many years. When I moved from Dayton and I would come stop to visit with her. It was nice to see her smile when she seen me. My husband Mike would go with me at times. Condolence to Terry and family members.
