Janice Ann Spence, age 72 of Lima, died at 10:16 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at her residence with her husband beside her. She was born October 16, 1941 in Lima, Ohio; the daughter of the late John ‘Jack’ and Cora Marie Burgner McLaughlin. She married Charles P. Routson, who preceded her in death. On July 6, 1987 she married Gerald R. Spence, who survives.
Mrs. Spence retired from the United Telephone Company and a graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. She was an avid floral and cake designer who operated her own shop. Her hobbies included working with ceramics and doing embroidery work. She was a member of the Eagles Women’s Auxillary.
She is also survived by 5 children – Elizabeth Farley of Dayton; Kelly Dunlap, Dianna Warner, Dawn (Scott) Miller, and John Routson all of Lima; 8 grandchildren – Jammie Le, Athena (Mike) Witham, Cassandra Rizor, Samantha Miller, John Routson II, Branden Routson, Shane Miller, and Paul James Keasler; 4 great grandchildren – Arianna Keasler, Coyer Keasler, Maylin Keasler, and Stella Witham; a brother John McLaughlin of Lima.
She was preceded in death by a sister – Linda Pierson.
