Jay D. Shadley, age 68 of Bluffton, formerly of Lima, growing up in Ada, died at 5:50 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Rita’s Medical Center’ Hospice unit. He was born June 9, 1948 in Lima, Ohio; to the late James D. and Serena B. Wilson Shadley.
Jay was a retired plumber. He will be remembered for being a caring person, meeting friends everywhere he went, his love of life and his laugh. His hobbies included fishing, listening to Pink Floyd, collecting music, and looking for arrow heads. Jay loved the outdoors and had a ‘green thumb’ for gardening .
Survivors include a son – Tim Shadley of Lima; a daughter – Stacy (Jim, dec.) Harris of Lima; 3 grandchildren; a brother – Wayne Shadley of Lima; a sister – Gennevieve Symonds of Dayton; a brother-in-law – Frank Martin of Lima; 3 former wives – Ellie of Lima; Linda of Lima; and Gail of Spencerville. He is also survived by his very loyal friend, that stuck with him through thick and thin – Randy (Sue) Morvay of Elida.
He was preceded in death by a fiancée – Della Bryan and a sister – Lorene Symonds.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
