Jerry Lee Cress

November 6, 1941 - December 21, 2020

Jerry Lee Cress, age 79 of Lima, passed at 3:43 p.m., Monday, December 21, 2020 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born November 6, 1941 in Weston, WV to the late Howard Thomas and Clara Elizabeth Fultineer Cress. On September 28, 2019 he married Marilyn Shelton, who survives.

Jerry retired from North West Ohio Sprinkler Company and was co-founder of the Mustang Maniacs of Ohio. He loved his Mustangs, especially his 2007 show car where he loved to attend car shows and visit with all the people. He enjoyed flying radio control planes and his ‘kitty cats’ – Missy, Dandelion, Buckeye and his Jack, who preceded him in death.

Survivors also include – his 5 sons – Jerry Scott (Arlene) Cress of Columbus Grove; Bryan Taylor Cress of Cridersville; Brent Raymond Cress of Lima; Travis Joe (Amber) Cress of Lima; Korey Guy (Melissa) Cress of Lima; a daughter – Samantha Janelle Bosson of CO; 4 step children- Chris Robinson of MI; Jeff Robinson of Columbus; Sara (Don) Ramsey of MI; Beth Robinson of SC; 10 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a half brother – Larry Andrew Cress of WV; a half sister – Connie Elizabeth Bennett of W; and his former wife – Sue Ann Stoddard of Lima.

He was preceded in death by a brother – Howard Thomas Cress, Jr.; a half brother – Donald Eugene Cress; and a half sister – Linda Sue Butcher.

To Jerry's family I send up my condolences. I am Sue's first cousin, daughter of Mary Emig. I just found out about Jerry's passing when I read Scott's posting on Facebook about him having covid and that his dad had passed just about a year ago. I have many memories of Jerry when I was a teenager. My heart goes out to you.

I have known Jerry since the early 70s, we've been married 1 year. I'm going to miss you so much, your laughter, your character, your Faith. I love you...enjoy the car shows with your friends. I know you're watching us all Love your wife Marilyn

memories are always with me, Dad. My best memories of you were your humor, and when i was little cruising in your sport cars downtown, our talks, and your guidance. There are alot of memories that will stay with me as long as i will remember. I miss you Dad. It hurts, but I know your still here in spirit. Make sure to tell family in Heaven I said hello as well. Now you can cruise the golden roads of heaven. I love you, Dad, until we meet again- Your youngest son.
