Obituary

Jim Kitchen age 68, of Lima passed away Friday, March 25, 2022 at Lima
Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 30, 1953 in Lima to Mary (Concus)
Sneary. He married Cheryl A. Workman August 6, 1977 and she survives
in Lima.

Jim currently was working for NAPA Auto Parts. He retired from real estate
and served as President of the West Central Ohio Board of Realtors in
2010. He also volunteered in the reading program in the Lima City
Schools and tutored elementary children through that program. Jim was a
very dedicated worker and very loyal friend; he would give you the shirt
off his back but never ask for anything in return. Everyone who knew Jim
loved him and knew he would be there for them if they needed help. Jim’s
smile would warm a room in no time.

He also loved his four samoyeds, Nik, Sam, Kodi and currently Niko that he
and Cheryl had over the years. Niko was Jim’s buddy and he is going to
miss Jim. Jim and Cheryl did
everything together including taking her parents into their home and caring
for them during the last years of their lives.

Additional family includes a brother-in-law Craig (Deb) Workman of
Lima, nieces Kate Workman of Denver, CO and Jessica (Alex) Coleman,
great-niece Alle Coleman and great-nephew Tucker Coleman of Columbus and a
whole host of friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother Mary and stepfather Earl
Sneary and his in-laws Robert and Lucille Workman.

A memorial open house will be held Sunday, May 15th from 1 to 5 at the gazebo in Heritage Park river walk behind town in Wapakoneta.
Memorial contributions may be given to Deb’s Dogs 1560
Wonderlick Road, Lima, Ohio 45805.

Jim was a man who never sought acclaim. He was always looking for ways to be of service to others in need. He volunteered tutoring children to read. He helped Cheryl in so many ways to care for her elderly parents, welcoming them in their home when they could no longer live alone. I always respected Jim knowing all the things he did so quietly to help others.
