Joe P. Kollars, Sr. age 67, of Lima, died 11:22 p.m., Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at his residence. He was born September 18, 1943 in Ada, Ohio. The son of Calvin Eugene and Helen Louise Grubaugh Kollars, both parents are deceased. On November 13, 1964 he married Sandra J. Edwards, who survives.
Mr. Kollars was retired from Marathon Electric Company, Lima. He had spent time in the Army National Guard. He loved people, making new friends, and sharing his jokes. He enjoyed fixing things up, wood working, and offering a helping hand. He adored and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Additional survivors include a son: Joe P. (Amy) Kollars, Jr. of Wapakoneta, 2 daughters: Tammy J. (David) Schadewald of Lima and Amber L. Kollars of Lima, 5 grandchildren: Joseph, Ryan, Cheyann, Alexandra and Kylyn, a brother: Stanley (Laura) Kollars of Lima, a sister: Tina (Gary) Webb of Wapakoneta and a special family friend Amanda Burden of Toledo.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Dennis Kollars and a sister: Sue Ellen Howard.
The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville With Rev. Randy Bargerstock officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery, near Westminster, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice or to the family.
