John W. Fisher, age 74 of Cridersville, passed at 1:22 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021 at St. Rita’s Medical Center and is now together again with his wife of 48 years.
He was born September 27, 1946 in Lima, Ohio to the late John W. and Angie Wilkerson Fisher. On August 5, 1972 he married Eileen Hale who passed August 2, 2020.
Mr. Fisher retired after 35 years with Marathon Electric as an inspector. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran being awarded the Purple Heart in 1969. He was also a member of the D.A.V. and the V.F.W. Post 8445 of Wapakoneta.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, anything outside and loved tinkering in the garage. His great joy was his family, whom he always put first. He treasured the grandchildren, dancing with his wife, and sharing time together.
He is survived by a son – John I. (Megan) Fisher of Cridersville; a daughter – Joelene (Paul) Wiley of Vandalia; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a sister – Josephine Wagner of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will begin 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Jonathon Spyker will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
