Joren F. ‘J.P.’ Plapp, age 55 of Waynesfield, passed at 12:12 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born May 1, 1966 in Englewood, NJ to Herbert and Betty Wilcox Plapp. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Waynesfield. On June 16, 1984 he married Charlotte L. McDaries, who survives in Waynesfield.
J.P. was a sheet metal worker at Kirk Williams in Columbus and a member of both the Sheet Metal Workers Local 98 of Columbus and Local 224 of Dayton. He was a member of the Wayne Masonic Lodge #569 of Waynesfield. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1984 – 1989. One of his favorite hobbies was fishing for Walleye and Perch and was a Certified Charter Captain.
Also surviving is a daughter – Angela S. (Brent) Keiffer of Harrod; 5 grandchildren – Izabella Keiffer, Anthony Plapp, Mackenzee Keiffer, Gabriel Keiffer, and Jacob Plapp; 2 brothers – Kurt Plapp of Waynesfield; Selig (Chris) Plapp of Wilmington, NC; and a sister – Kasha Plapp of Toledo.
He was preceded in death by 2 sons – Anthony F. Plapp, who passed February 14, 2020 and Joseph C. Plapp who passed on July 30, 1998.
Funeral services will begin 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2022 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Terry Brock will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery with military rites.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday and 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
