Joseph D. Newman age 55, of Cridersville passed away peacefully at 2:04 p.m., Monday, Nov. 7, 2016. He was born July 2, 1961 in Key West Florida to the late John D. and Carolyn V. Blackstock Newman, Sr. He married Rebecca M. Cox Oct. 17, 1992 and she survives in Cridersville.
Joe was a certified pipefitter and worked thru Local 776. He had served in the U. S. Navy and enjoyed fishing. He was the grill master for all the family cookouts.
Additional survivors include children: Danae (Josh Little) Newman, Emily Newman, both of Lima, Nick Newman and Lucas Newman both of Cridersville; 3 grandchildren: Bryson, Colten and Adali Little, a brother John (Barbara) Newman of Lima, Theresa (Kenny) Mauk of Spencerville, Lynn Baker of Rockford, Pam (Matt) Harris of Wapak and Sherie (Andrew) Fairchild of Sidney and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends noon to 3 Saturday, Nov. 12 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. A memorial service will follow at 3 with military rites being provided by V. F. W. Post 8445.
