Joseph Ernie Gray age 88, of Wapakoneta, passed away 1:35 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home. He was born June 16, 1929 in Ashland, Ohio to the late John L. and Florence Schindler Gray. He married Doris Jane Nance May 25, 1991 and she survives in Wapakoneta.
Ernie was a member of Cridersville United Methodist Church and the United Ostomy Association St. Rita’s Chapter. He retired from General Dynamics and had served in the U. S. Navy.
Additional survivors include a son David Gray of Winter Haven. FL a stepson Shawn R. (Kim) Muter of Lima, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by siblings: Lloyd ‘Gene’ Gray, Josephine Stillion, Leatha LeFever, Phyllis Beattie and Donna Calhoun.
The family will receive friends 3 – 5 p.m., Sunday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home with Rev. Casey Ann Irwin officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Matthew Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Rita’s Ostomy Group or Cridersville United Methodist Church.
