Joseph H. Sreenan, age 90 of Lima, passed away at 5:35 a.m., Thursday, March 9, 2023, at his home. He was born March 30, 1932, in Beloit, Wisconsin to the late Peter J. and Irene Heagney Sreenan. On May 26, 1962 he married Donna Butcher, who passed on December 19, 1998.
Joe retired as a real estate agent with Yocum. Prior to selling real estate, he owned A.B. Dick Products and later, Sreenan Office Systems. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and was a paratrooper with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. He graduated from St. Thomas High School, an all-boys school in Rockford, IL and later got his BA degree from the University of Wisconsin in Platteville.
He is survived by 4 children – Susan (Dan) Johnson of Florida; Joseph J. ‘J.J.’ (Mary) Sreenan of Lima; John (Jill) Sreenan of Lima; and Mike (Cindy) Sreenan of N.C.; 10 grandchildren – Jennifer Bowen, Nicholas Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Emily Sreenan, John Sreenan, Connor Sreenan, Chase Sreenan, Nicole Lanning, Kelly Evans, Cody Sreenan; and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima. Father Kent Kaufman will officiate. A private burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Saturday, at St. Charles Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lima Central Catholic School.
