Joyce Ann Fess, age 85, of Lima, passed from this world to the next on January 24, 2019. She was born on November 21, 1933 to Clarence D. and Evelyn (McCauley) Creps in Cridersville, Ohio and lived in the area her entire life. She graduated from Shawnee High School and married her high school sweetheart Robert D. Fess on May 25, 1953. They were married for almost 60 years until his death on May 1, 2011.
While calling Ohio home all their lives, Bob and Joyce enjoyed many winters in Sundial Campground near Plant City, Florida and long summers at their cottage on Matteson Lake, near Bronson, Michigan.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Linda Hopp of Cridersville and Sharon Leyrer (Tom) of West Olive, Michigan, as well as by her grandchildren, Rob Hopp of Cridersville, Jason Seabert of White Lake, Michigan, Austin Seabert of Kalamazoo, Michigan and a step granddaughter Amy Leyrer DeYoung of Texas. Joyce was blessed with many friendships including Bunny Lore and Carla Roush, her neighbors who assisted in caring for her during her last years.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the entire staff of Wapakoneta Manor and the second floor nursing staff of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. Our sincere appreciation to Grand Lake Hospice as well as a special thanks to R.N. Jane Steinmann for her loving care and concern for Joyce, as well as her family.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville, and the services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 10:30 at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association, St. Jude’s or the charity of the donor’s choice.
