Joyce I. Bowden

Joyce Irene Bowden age 73, of Lima passed away 5:15 p.m., Monday Nov. 26 at Lima Memorial surrounded by her family.  She was born March 4, 1945 in Lima to the late Loyal Everett and Lois Lavern Hollenback Waltz.  She married Edward E. Bowden, Sr. June 27, 1969 and he preceded her in death Feb. 20, 2009.

She was a member of Shawnee Community of Christ and enjoyed being with her church friends.  Joyce retired from Merle Norman where she had been a beauty consultant.

Survivors include a daughter Christine Elizabeth Bowden of Lancaster and her husband Christian Adam Davenport of Columbus.  A brother Kenny (Judy) Waltz of Oberlin and a sister-in-law Carol Waltz Winkle of Lima.

She was preceded in death by an infant son Michael Duane Bowden and a brother Donald Waltz.

The family will receive friends Noon to 2 p.m., Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.  The funeral will follow at 2 with the Rev. Dr. Wes Morgan officiating.  Private burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
