Kathy Lyn (Metz) Hughes

Kathy L. Hughes, 59, of Lima went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2021. She was born March 22, 1962 in Lima to the late Norman E. and Sue E. (Koch) Metz. She is survived by a son Joshua Hughes. She is also survived by her siblings Michael E. Metz, Karen (Tom) Dickson, Debra Metz and Patti (Mark) Braun all of Wapakoneta. Nieces and nephews: Eric (Heather) Burden of Wapak, Erin (Brandon) Webb of Columbus, Mark (Crystal) Braun of Lima, Wesley Braun (Rachel Painter) of Wapak; great nieces and nephews: Destei and Kinlei Burden, Gideon Braun. She is also survived by an uncle and aunt Kenny (Carlene) Koch, aunts Lois Metz and Carol Klopfenstein and several cousins and a special friend Kenny Horg.
She was a past member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and Cridersville Church of the Nazarene. Kathy graduated from Wapakoneta Senior high in 1981. She had a love for animals, especially for cat Mandy, her best friend. She loved reading, studying the Bible and doing Sudoku puzzles. She loved her family and friends and was always willing to give a helping hand if needed and always had an ear to listen. She loved life and will be deeply missed.
There will be no memorial services. There will be a luncheon at the Wapak Eagles 691 from 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 1st to celebrate Kathy’s life. Donations may be given to help offset the cost of a cemetery memorial.
