Kay Casper, age 76 of Lima, died 1:30 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2014 at home with her husband beside her, after a courageous battle of five years with acute myeloid leukemia. She was born October 18, 1937 in Allen County, Ohio to the late Francis L. and Susan Coffey Merricle. On April 29, 1961 she married Max Casper, whom she had shared 51 years of marriage with, survives in Lima.
Mrs. Casper graduated in 1955 from Lima South. After graduating high school, she was a secretary for Clevenger Roofing and Sheet Metal. She retired as a manager for The Palmer-Donavin Manufacturing Company.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers – Delmar, Richard, Wilbur, Walter, Donald Merricle; five sisters – Vera Parker, Myretta Stevens, Joanne Young, Pearl Barnett, and Marion Binkley.
Funeral services will begin 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Rev. Charles Martindell will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Angel’s for Animals or St. Rita’s Hospice.
