LaDonna M. Weaver, age 94 of Lima, died at 1:38 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born August 18, 1918 in Lima, Ohio; the daughter of the late John and Vivian Dixon Baber. On April 29, 1942 she married Forrest E. Weaver, who survives.
Mrs. Weaver was a homemaker and had worked as a cashier at Pangles Grocery. She is a member of Westside United Methodist Church and a 1938 graduate of Shawnee High School. Being an excellent seamstress, she loved sewing and made all her clothes. She was active in the neighborhood club, enjoyed bowling leagues, water skiing, square dancing, fishing, and golfing. Loving to travel, she had the pleasure of visiting the 48 lower states with her husband.
She is survived by a daughter – Darla (Thaddeus Ragsdale) Davis of Rifle, CO; a daughter-in-law – Pamela J. Weaver of Wapakoenta; 3 granddaughters – Dawn (Bobby) Lane of CO; Tara (Kurt) Cooper of IN; Charity (Joe) Tuller of FL; a grandson – Craig Weaver II of Lima; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandsons; 2 brothers – John Baber of Lima; Grover Baber of Cridersville; 3 sisters – Alfretta Weaver of Marysville; Oletha (Henry ‘Hank’) Zaborniac of Perrysburg; Ploma (Shot) Arnett.
She was preceded in death by a son – Craig O. Weaver who died May 31, 2012; 6 sisters – Velma Brown, Arlene Fritz, Marjorie Lange, Carolyn Place, Walthea Helser, and Magdalena Kimpel.
Funeral services will begin 1:30 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2012 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersivlle. Pastor Bill Cronk will officiate. Burial will follow in Shawnee Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday
at the funeral home.
