LaJoie Carlton Hurlburt, age 89 of Lima, died at 9:15 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2016 at his residence in Lima. He was born September 29, 1926 in Toledo, OH to the late Bernard LaJoie and Ethel Anspaugn Hurlburt. In December 1950 he married Joann Spencer who died December 17, 2010.
Mr. Hurlburt was a retired equipment operator with the Allen County Engineers office and a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #370, a former member of the V.F.W. Post 1275 both of Lima, and enjoyed family game nights.
He is survived by a daughter – Sharon (Mike) McGinnis of CO; 3 sons – Steven (Kathy) Hurlburt of NY; Keith Hurlburt of Lima and Keven Hurlburt of Lima; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his twin – LeRoy ‘Roy’ Hurlburt.
Private graveside services will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery where military rites will be observed by V.F.W. Post 1275 of Lima.
