Linda L. Mooney age 80, of Cridersville passed away at 7:10 a.m. at Cridersville Health Care Center. She was born in Waynesfield, Ohio to Gerald Herndon and Flossie Hower Herndon Dellinger on Tuesday, July 8, 1937. She married Ronald K. Mooney January 19, 1964 at Cridersville United Methodist by Rev. Lee Parkinson.
Survivors: Lisa (Greg) Lowry, Wapakoneta, Rick (Crissie) Mooney, New Knoxville, Douglas (Charlotte) Mooney, Cridersville, and Timothy (Kathy Weston) MooneyCaledonia. Grandchildren: Ben Mooney, Toledo, Chad (Sabrina) Mooney, Delaware, Brandon (Nicole) Mooney, Delaware, Brandi (Justin Levoir), Marion, Chastity (Wes) Hostetler, Sugar Creek, Sean (Niki Kochert) Lowry, Celina, Emily (Justin) Behr, Wapakoneta, KV Mooney and Colin Mooney New Knoxville. Siblings: Sandra (Dale) Stolzenburg, Wapakoneta, Larry Herndon, Waynesfield, Karen (Gene) Shade, Wapakoneta, and Elaine Steinke, Wapakoneta, many nieces and nephews; Sister-in-laws: Sandy Mooney, Cridersville, and Ruth Herndon, Waynesfield.
Linda retired from ExCello/Textron after 27 years, also worked at Holloway Jackson Center/Sidney and Ann Ross Catering. Past president of Dist #9 association, Past president of Dist #9 past matrons, Past Matron of Bethel and Koneta Chapter, Past Deputy Grand Matron 1995 and currently a member of Lafayette Chapter #121, member of OES for 61 years. Linda graduated from Waynesfield-Goshen in 1956 and a member of Cridersville Methodist Church, Cridersville Historical Society, Wapakoneta Eagles Auxiliary #691 and was a Sec-Treasurer of Waynesfield-Goshen Alumni Association for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by parents Harry and Flossie Dellinger, Gerald and Val Herndon, In-laws Ralph and Viola Mooney, Brother-in-law Dennis Mooney.
Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 Sunday at Cridersville United Methodist Church with Order of Eastern Star service at 3:30. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m., Monday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville with Rev. A. Gail Sims officiating. Burial will follow at St. Matthew Cemetery near Cridersville. Memorial contributions may be given to Shriners Hospital for Children or Donor’s Choice.
