Lloyd E. Patton, age 75 of Lima, died at 4:52 p.m., April 1, 2012 in Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima. He was born May 17, 1936 on Redd Road in Elida, Ohio. He is the son of Harry Lloyd and Zelma Estella Lutz Patton, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Patton graduated from Gomer High School in 1954 where he played basketball and baseball. He had formerly worked at Decker Dairy, SaniPure Dairy, was a sales manager with Miller’s Textiles, and a general manager with Home Service Laundry. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 370 of Lima. Very active with the local cancer benefits, volunteering with the Allen and Auglaize County Relay’s for life. He was a loving Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather who was very proud of his family legacy and was an avid OSU fan.
He is survived by 4 sons – Wayne A. Patton of Lima; Tim D. (Lisa) Patton of Powell; Steve G. (Beth) Patton of Westerville; and Christopher S. Patton of Van Wert; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 brother – George W. Patton of Lima; 2 sisters – Mary A. Dunlap of Delphos; Maxine M. Custer of Lima; former wives Ruth Ann Shock Dorsett of Lima; and Louise Patton of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a sister Eris L. Jones.
Funeral services will begin 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 6, 2012 beginning with and FOE service, followed by the service led by Rev. Brian Bucher; at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
