Lowell Smith, age 75 of Harrod, passed away at 5:19 a.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his residence. He was born August 20, 1946 in Lima, Ohio to the late Raymond and Gertrude Marie Williams Smith. On June 23, 1990 he married Gina Garver, who survives in Harrod.
Mr. Smith was a very proud U.S. Army Veteran and was a Senior Gunner. He was an avid Harley rider, founder of the Harley Club in Ottawa, and was a HOG lifetime member. He enjoyed target shooting with family and friends. His greatest joy, was his family whom he loved spending time with. There were many treasured memories made visiting his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Mike Love, at their Lexington, Kentucky home.
Also surviving are 2 daughters – Kris Dunn of Youngstown, Ohio; Julie (Marc) Fields of Lima, Ohio ; 3 grandchildren – Ashley, Christopher, and Derek; a brother – Dick Smith of Cridersville and his 2 little buddies – Cooper and Sockey.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law – Scott Dunn; and 3 brothers – Billy Smith, Danny Smith, and Ernie Smith.
Funeral services will begin 6:30 p.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville where military rites will be observed.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 6:30 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home, where military rites will be observed by V.F.W. Post 1275 of Lima.
