Magdalena Kimpel, age 78, of Lima died 2:43 p.m., Monday, July 26, 2010 in St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born October 12, 1931 in Allen County to John W. and Vivian Dixon Baber. Both parents are deceased. On August 16, 1953 she married Fredrick D. Kimpel who died October 29, 2009.
Mrs. Kimpel was a homemaker. She served in the U. S. Airforce in the Korean Era and enjoyed knitting and craft work.
Survivors include 4 sons, Dean (Chiyoko) Kimpel of Botkins, Dan (Loris) Kimpel of Sidney, Garry (Lee) Kimpel of West Milton and Randy Kimpel of Lima, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, John (Lois) Baber of Lima and Grover (Lorma) Baber of Maplewood and 4 sisters, LaDonna (Forrest) Weaver of Lima, Alfretta (Emmett) Weaver of Lima, Oletha (Hank) Zaborniac of Perrysburg and Ploma (Shot) Arnett of Lima.
She was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Velma Brown, Arlene Fritz, Marjorie Lange, Walthea Helser and Carolyn Place.
Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2010 in Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Jonathan Spyker will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Rita’s Medical Center Hospice Program.
