Marcelle Hefner, age 89, of Lima died 5:05 p.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at
Baton Rouge Senior Living Center. She was born November 9, 1921 in Lima to
Harry and Irma Douglas Dawson. On June 30, 1938 she married David H. Hefner
who died November 13, 1993.
Mrs. Hefner had been a homemaker. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church
and their book club, which she dearly loved. She enjoyed reading and quilting.
She was a volunteer with Lima Memorial Auxiliary for over 21 years.
Survivors include 2 sons: Douglas E. (Dee) Hefner of Jeromesville, Ohio, Charles D.
(Martha) Hefner of Lima, 2 daughters: Marilee (Dennis) Dellifield of Lafayette and
Meredith (Roger) Fessler of Lima, 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren
And a daughter-in-law Donna Hefner of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by a son Nathan J. Hefner, 2 brothers Byron and James Dawson and a grandchild.
Memorial services will begin 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, corner of Cole and Edgewood Drive, Lima with Pastor Kent
Wilson officiating. Private burial will be in Lafayette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Elida Rescue Squad
or Zion Lutheran Church, corner of Cole and Edgewood, Lima, Ohio 45805.
