M. JoAnne Rumbaugh, age 89 of Lima, passed at 6:20 p.m., Tuesday, June 14 2022 at Lima Convalescent Home. She was born March 13, 1933 in Allen County, to the late Cecil Franklin and Susan Lucille Scholl Hartman. On February 16, 1952 she married Merlin G. Rumbaugh, who survives.
JoAnne was a homemaker and a 1951 graduate of Shawnee High School. She was very involved in her children’s school and sporting events with Perry School; working the concession stand, being a member of the Perry Boosters, and teaching kindergarten. Family was everything to JoAnne and she loved to spoil them. She loved cooking, listening to gospel music, playing the piano and organ, and singing.
She is survived by 4 sons – Kenneth W. (Linda) Rumbaugh of Lima; Gregory G. Rumbaugh of Lima; Bryan W. (Sally) Rumbaugh of Cridersville; and Perry L. (Pam) Rumbaugh of Lima; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren with one due in September; a brother – Frank (Bev) Hartman of Lima.
She was preceded in death by 4 sisters – Evelyn (Tom) Dillon; Maxine (Ed) Doseck; Donna (Vernon) Weaver; and Deloris (Norman) Cook.
Funeral services will begin 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Her son Ken will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
