Marilyn S. Rogers 83, of Wapakoneta passed away at 2:48 p.m., Tuesday, August 7 at Lima Memorial Health Systems. She was born Aug. 8, 1934 to the late John H. and Elda Grace Chiles Hower near Waynesfield. She married Lloyd Spain May 18, 1973 and he preceded her in death March 25, 1991. She later married Steven “Mike” Rogers Feb. 26, 1995 and he survives in Wapakoneta.
Marilyn was a longtime member of the Wapak Eagles Arie 691 and former member of the Moose and Am Vets. Marilyn retired in 1998 from Lima Memorial where she had been a housekeeper. She enjoyed cooking and dancing but most of all spending time with family.
Additional survivors include a son: Harley A. (Deb) Hower of Belle Center, daughters: Trina (Dave) Tester of Hamilton and Sue (Jack) Strahm of Lima, 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by siblings: Jock “Roscoe” Hower, Arthur Hower, Jim Hower, Harley O. Hower, Flossie Dillinger, LaVaun Rumer and Evelyn Miller.
The family will receive friends Friday 4 – 7:30 p.m. at the Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville with an Eagles Auxiliary service at 7:30. The funeral will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 11 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Hollinger officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery near Uniopolis.
Memorial contributions may be given to Lima Memorial Auxiliary.
